A fab day at Castle Combe - was really quiet, maybe 15 cars?

Saw a GT3 with PH stickers and chatted to another Elise owner in a PH top but didn't get his name.

My first time there, and flippin' 'eck thats a tough circuit to learn, but very rewarding. I had thought the overtaking on the right would be a problem, but people seemed to get the hang of it very quickly.

A few laps:

Never thought the circuit was that technical or difficult really,

I was there with some friends, driving my green Volvo S60 - you went past me at 1min32sec in your video, just as I was exiting the pits. Combe is indeed very technical but very rewarding all the same; yesterday was extremely quiet but has been the second such day with BaT, whereby there's hardly any traffic out. Can you imagine just how quick it was when both the chicanes weren't there? smile

What's BaT?

I'll be there Friday in the Beemer, a whole open pitlane day to myself should give me a chance to learn it properly.

Couple of fast corners, couple of fast kinks and two chicanes - nothing difficult really!

I only managed to get one track day there before they put the chicanes in, and whilst it wasn't difficult, it was scary remembering entering Old Paddock Bend at 40mph more than I do now.

Book a track seem to be pricing themselves out of the market. Much better value to go on a Castle combe day, well over £100 cheaper and just as well run.
I prefer a busy track to driving around on your own.

I like there to be a few other cars on track as well, empty tracks are just wierd.

I was there and absolutely loved it. Agree it was a pity it was so empty. I was looking back at some of my videos and there's lap after lap where i didn't see a soul - except the combine harvester in the middle which was a little disconcerting...

I guess I sit in the minority then. Love feeling like I've got the track to myself, nothing in the mirrors, nothing in the way, just concentrating on the lines and trying to be consistent every lap. A real pleasure.
