I just finished watching this movie again and as much as I don't want to admit it, some parts are just so ridiculous I can't take it seriouslym Batmans voice is so overdone its laughable and just about ruins the movie for me. He speaks like a 90 year old man with emphesyma. And I just want to add that the head is too large and round on the batman costume. He sounds like he's trying to speak and sound like clint eastwood.

I watched it once, a few months ago, expecting a lot and was left disappointed.

I much preferred the first Christian Bale one.

I agree that the "deep, double hard ba***rd" voice of batman was a downer, the rest of the film made up for it.

If he talked like the very well known Bruce Wayne everyone would go "Er.....Bruce. Is that you in there? Hey guys, it's Bruce Wayne. Bruce Wayne is Batman"

I thought it was the best film of 2008, loved it, and one of my fave superhero films.

The first Christian Bale Batman as opposed to the first Batman film with Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson

No arguements here. I've watched it a number of times, and still enjoy it. I can understand what some people mean by the voice that Bale plays the character with, but some of the scenes are simply fantastic. The whole bank heist scene at the start is brilliant, as is the Hong Kong sequence.

Whilst I thought it was an excellent film I couldn't get caught up in the "best film ever" hysteria that surrounded it. For me it's a 4, not 5, star film

It's way too long.

They should have shortened it and stayed focused on The Joker, the Two Face character should have been kept for another film.

I thought Batman Begins was a better film, heres hoping the third is back on track.

The one with Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson wasn't the first Batman film.

It was terrible. If you're Batman, you don't need to put on a gruff voice to sound 'ard.
If Heath hadn't died then there would be no way near the same amount of hype for this film.

Really agree, Its a solid 4 star film, Spoiled by being 30 mins longer than it needs to be. Begins is a much better film

OT - Why do directors nowadays feel the need to make very long films, Its not arty. Its just lazy editing.

Leon 110 mins pretty much the perfect film IMO, Even the directors cut is only smidge over 2 hours, 2 and half hours is just too long, especially if it doesnt add to the film

I thought it was total st too, but I've never really been into fantasy/superhero type movies. Although the recent Spiderman movies got the balance of plot, fantasy and fiction close to spot on, Dark Knight did not.

Whether you like the first or second is down to preference, I prefer the 2nd by a slim margin, I think the grittiness/realism is taken to another notch, thanks to location (they even considered Liverpool before they chose Chicago).
I don't think this film suffers from lazy editing, far from it. The story arc of Two-Face would have suffered if it had been edited further. And I think that's why Nolan finished him off, there was
no where else for that character to go.

I tried to avoid the hype but was still expecting too much when I watched it. Still prefer Batman Begins.

i also hate the voice, but by far the worst thing in it is the makeup for two-face, truly terrible.

the joker makes this film, the focus should have remained on him throughout.

I think the whole 2 face arc should have been left for another film, wasnt neccessary IMO. Joker V Batman should be enough for anyone to go on.

Are you kidding me?

Ok, the first couple were ok but the last one was terrible - walked out of the cinema after the piano scene.
