Places you have an affinity with but haven't visited

Back when I was a young lad I collected stamps, and one of the more unusual were those of Tuvalu. I wrote to the Governor asking about his island and whether he'd send some stamps to me, and I was pleased a couple of months later to receive a nice postcard back with some beautiful stamps.

Ever since then I've been interested in Tuvalu and its inhabitants though I've never, of course, been there. So even though I'll probably never visit I've kept in touch in a way by reading articles and watching TV programmes that cover it.

So what places do you have a connection with, or interest in, that you've never visited?

Australia.

My sister has lived there for the last four years but I don't ever see myself going there.

Finland. I'm a Kiwi so geographically about as far removed as you can get, but I get the impression its quite similar in some ways.
