M3 E46 - Adjustable shocks?
Discussion
Yep i did went from standard set up ,
Then eibach springs but while fitting the springs noticed the standard shocks had a slight weep of oil around them and the rears did not feel the same resistence to each ohter all at 30k .
Fitted many different types of shocks to many cars over the years and always noticed a diference even fitting standard shocks with anything over 30-40k .
So went the KW3 route on my M3 , takes some time setting up to owners liking but worth it if you want to go the whole hog .

come to think of it a still have the eibach springs sitting in thier box only used for a couple of hundred miles

Kel,
how much was the full set up?
Do you find it bearable on motorway journeys as well as good handling for the twists?
The price was £1100 i think and still around that price . how much was the full set up?

Yes excellent on twists and only the odd occassion its bad on very poor B roads
May seem a bit pricey but compaired to Avo to name a few , was well worth it .
The fact the kit comes with setting for road , track etc and in the instructions is a guide to setting the coilover height of the spring platform to achieve the ride height of the car before fitting them to the car which was correct saves hours of messing around lifting the car up and down adjusting them on the car for a base height to start with .
In road setting for bump and rebound they feel stiffer than stock of course but not in a crash bump hop type of way .
Fitted KW3's to a RS focus for a customer that said the ride was to stiff with standard set up for B roads , we ended up setting the bump and rebound to the customers liking and he said it handles better and is slightly more compliant , thats the bonus with the type of suspension .
If you want to fine tune the car then well worth it , if you want it low then just buy springs .
