Since the M6 was stolen I've noticed one or two cars around the area wearing very similar wheels... knowing the orginal M6 alloys are V.Expensive, how do I tell an original part from a pattern one?

Seeing a full set of M6 OE alloys on an old E46 M3 would be enough for me to follow him home and see if any other bits fit the description of my car!! smile

Or maybe I'm just being paranoid and should just get over it...!

Would a set of genuine M6 wheels fit and E46 M3?

Size? A lot of the patterns are 18 inch not the 19 (or is it 20?) on the M6.

But there are loads and loads of the fake ones about, round here every 316 compact has em!

The fronts would stick out passed the wheel arch, they have a very aggressive offset.

Dubbs, you should exorcise the paranoia by getting yourself another m6 (or, dare I suggest it, an M5) - at that point, you won't give a monkeys about the fool knocking about in the old beat up e46.

I suspect the car was stolen to order rather than stripped for parts.

Bad news all the same though.
