GROWL 2010 - yes 2010 - dates

Dates are July 30th to August 1st 2010 so please put in your diary.
Ettington at Stratford again. I don't see any point moving location as numbers were down this year and it ticks all the boxes.

What about something/somewhere different though?...either within the normal event or somewhere else in middle England. No's could be falling for a number of reasons including it's the same again sort of reaction.
Personally I think the formula we have is great and is a credit to the organisers but somewhere different would provide some new stimulation.
TVR is all about breaking molds so it must be worth exploring some ideas...?

All new ideas, as always , gratefully received.
Somewhere different? The trouble here is finding a (Central) facility that allows us to do exactly what we want. Can you imagine a hotels reaction to the enquiry can we book you for the Growl which means we would want to take over your hotel for weekend. Cheap deals to include breakfast. Use all your parking, have non residents call in ad-hoc, have tents all over your lawns,use of chairs tables flip charts etc that your staff will bring out to the car park, all sorts of revving going on and a rolling road going full chat for 2 days. Quite happy to break molds, but on the location don't think it can be bettered? Unless someone knows somewhere?

We've looked at a number of locations within say 60-70 miles of Brum but although they may give you a warm feeling when you speak with them, when it comes to committing the deal suddendly becomes worse, ie want you to pay for the car parking, rooms rates increase etc. Ettington is good value, central, with good local roads, and they pretty much let us do whatever we want. The numbers were only slightly down on 2008 which is good considering the economic climate, and of course the awful weather forecast for that weekend which would have deterred a good few.

Couldn't agree more, anywhere will do, although Ettington (with the afore mentioned local pub / facilities I would imagine is hard to beat). If it aint broke don't fix it as they say .
