Just got my seats back today, with Ears. I had them made to match the Gulf orange on my car. Very happy with them. Just hope they fit.

Think I'm going to get something like this for my next TVR racer, thinking might get the Nascar window webbing too.

Nice.

Carpets - Are you sure this is a race car! I was thinking of having a passenger seat - so I can take people out on the road and scare the crap out of them!

The one I'm buying at the moment has the Nascar webbing...Looks awesome. Not sure about the seat but I'll be putting in one with ears for sure! I was pleased to hear that it's got an ATL fuel cell as well... Pretty reassuring after Combe!

What car is this for Nick? As not actively racing a TVR yet don't follow these things "to" much.

Ah you'll hate it as its a hard top Tuscan with a wing on it! It's to race in the challenge, though when I get my eye in, I'm sure I'll enter it for some other series as well smile

Flying over to Sweden to check it over in a couple of weeks, then the small matter of getting it from Sweden to my garage. Should be out for the beginning of next season though all being well.

HAHAH wink

Cool - so, what was that about Combe?

The Green one in the Challenge does look good, as doe the MAD one in NZ. My issue with wings is the Tuscan were at least all the same so it was down to the driver, but now you can do what you want it is less clear cut on who the best driver is (though I'd say Mike is coming out tops on that score!). So if open end what you can do why not. Just annoys me a bit as I was maybe planning on coming out at some point, but and old car like mine even if built with more power that an AJP Racer just can't go that fast, very short wheelbase, cannot get huge tyres in (even with the wide fia arches limited to 8"), 4 speed AND certainly no aero.

In a straight line I'd hope it would be as fast if not a bit faster that a very healthy Full Factory Tuscan but round your average track, no chance - would easily beat the Class B's I'd think but could never do the times of the front Tuscans or Mike Cerb in A.

It will be Mental though.

lol let me think 4-500 bhp and the weight of a packet of crisps... that'll be A then..

there probably is scope for some class equalisation, but that would be down to JR

drums and xplys shudder

Combe... The big fire where the Owen's fuel tank exploded?? With a hard top, I would want a proper fuel cell as I think I'd be cooked if a similar thing happened.

Glad to hear that you like the green one as the one I'm buying is actually its sister car, run by the same guys so looks very similar. Though this one has a 3" wider rear end, flat floor and a few other tasty bits. No engine yet though sadly but that part is in the works.

I see your point about aero though, it is obviously having an effect, though guys like sam head don't seem to be far off the pace, and I guess some circuits lend themselves better to aero than others as was seen when Sam was so far ahead at Rockingham with no aero at all. Who knows though, maybe the classes will change again in your favour!

Nope - should be more ponies than a top AJP. But heavier, much shorter, narrower, less brakes, suspension not really tweetable (no rose-jointing), no slick (though could get a set but would need a larger diameter rim (16 vs 15) to get a reasonable width, but max 8" rims). Loads against in.

Mind at the Snett Monster Meet in 05, most people were saying the Steve Wattons Beast looked fastest with quiet a few full fat Tuscans out there. Mind looks can be deceptive, laps time are what count.

What engine you going for?

I was torn between an LS2/3 and an AJP but I want it out for next season and that's just not going to happen if I go LS, so AJP it is. Hopefully going for a 4.5 road engine rebuilt with race internals as this one ran a 4.2 bored out to 4.5, dry sumped etc previously. So a road engine will actually fit easier plus the dry sumping kit comes with it, making it an easy choice smile

Good stuff, though what is hard about an LS swap is beyond me wink You should be able to do any engine swap in a month with all the main bits in one place.

What make are the seats?
