Job interview - Dylan James Management
Discussion
I have an interview tomorrow with a company called 'Dylan James Management". They seem to be a ltd registered company but I am suspicious as they gave me an immediate interview without even asking for my CV, and promise a wage of 24k+ with no experience needed. And also they said they are doing a group interview which is another reason for suspicion.
Anyone had any dealings with this company?

Yeh
I have been to interview last week. They seemed genuine. At my interview they said they are changing there structure. There was a salary available of 24k because i met one of there managers (Grant) on the stairs & he confirmed it. Thats changed now. Actually i found there interview fairly informative. At least i knew exactly what i have to do if i got the job. I will find out sometime next week! They are hiring team leaders which is what i am up for & they want field sales agents. He was very clear on that. If you are into field sales they do pay alot for that job. He even says at the interview he knows how tough that job is. I wouldn't put you off going to this interview. They tell you exactly what the job is & also how much they are going to pay you. I'll let you know more if i get it!!

Avoid like the plague!
The company (if you can call it that) is run by complete amateurs, who are nothing but bullies. The company itself has no direction at all.
The aim of the big game is to knock door to door (businesses) and sign them up for just the basic telecoms package that is all that is required to constitute a sale. The range of packages are not promoted and a attitude of "sign the customer up for the basic package then they can sort it out later" seems to be promoted.
What is important to the customer is not what is important to Dylan James, who are a franchise of XLN (search under XLN you will find some useful information).

I work with Dylan James since August & I must say you are correct! Dylan James do recruit sales agents to go business to business. And they do get customers to transfer there services to Xln Telecom. They also do not try to sell products as there sole task is to acquire customers for Xln which was made very clear to me at my interview as was all of the above so again you are right! We actually have every product available to us to satisfy the customer but don't have to push anything which is very helpful. You can read whatever you like about Xln. I find that when any of my team acquire a customer & pass them to Xln, given there competitiveness & really good customer service all of the customers are happy. So again you are right to advise people to look up Xln as anyone with a Small to Medium Business should be using there services. Its clear to me that with Dylan James having the back up of Xln's customer service it's new customers are well taken care of.
I like the relaxed working enviroment that is here. It maybe that you come from a very professional backround & you might find the relaxed atmosphere amatuerish but it seems to be working as since I've joined Dylan James in August they have opened two more bases & seem to be on the up.

You are right. There was a person who came to the company on a request from a higher level. You are also right in saying he was aggressive on the conference call. It did not go down well here. If you are still in contact you will know he is no longer working here. He lasted 4 weeks. It's not the way things are done. All of your comments are related to this one person. To put the record straight I know he wasn't wanted in the company. He was given a chance to shape up as he was from an older regime that is not approved of here. He did not & he is now gone. I am very happy here & progressing quickly. I will leave it at that.
You have only to look at their website which only has one purpose - to entice people to work for them, you get no real sense of what they actually do.
I'm guessing it's another one of those companies that promise the earth but in reality they send people out knocking door-to-door and then at the end of the day they are told they made £4.50 commission. I would love to be proved wrong but I find these kind of companies sickening, especially in the current climate - preying on peoples desperation.
I have no experience of them, it's just the impression I get from their website.

This is a very negative attitude to a company which no one seems to know much about.
I have just signed up to enter this thread. I have seen the adverts and website and am mildly interested in seeing what they are offering - but i want to know the facts, not speculation.
From the website it sounds like approaching Small companies and offering a telecoms package. Looking at the history it seems this is a spin off of a successful entrepreneur (Ernst and Young finalist).
What it doesnt say is what exactly the jobs are, basic salary and whether it is telesales cold calling, door to door, lead driven appointments or what.
At £40k+ it's worth finding out at least.
So if Mr Webb has any more info that would be useful. A post from August of his said he was going for an interview, so what happened exactly, what do you do and how much are you earning?
I've found the premises on google maps and its an old (probably listed) building, in the centre of Manchester, so it's not a nice smart office I expected.
Thanks
