I saw an advert on telly last night for a new Derren Brown series called The Event

advert was a mix of forward and backwards things with a few subliminal things thrown in.

I like him, and look forward to this....

...but that last of the series of Trick or Treat, when he made that poor girl witness her own death....that was twisted.

How can that not have had a long term effect on her!

That was the idea, she wasn't paying attention when driving and so needed a kick up the backside.

That was quite a kick though.

That was the first series and was far better and darker, the second series was all abit 'nicey nicey' Brown does dark much better.

I bet that bird concentrates on the road now.... surely a benefit in the eyes of PH'ers.....

.....maybe we could get him to do something about middle lane tts.

Saw his show live a couple of times a while back and when you're in the audience it's actually mind boggling what he does. It's amazing when you see it on TV, but there's always the suspicion in the back of my mind that, somehow, the mesmerising feats are somehow aided and amplified by you being removed from the scene via television and all that they can do with editing and suchlike. But no, the trickery is 100% for real. Probably one of the most amazing live events I've ever been to.

Hmm I thought the opposite after I had seen him live (The one with McFly at the end)

Most of the tricks I saw were quite easy to work out and 90% were just slight of hand. It was a good show but just didn't have the wow how did he do that factor.

yes

That's how he comes across on TV. A great showman, but his tricks are quite old magic tricks using well known props and sleight of hand.
