Guys,

About to start the search for a suitable used Gran Turismo (non S type) with an Auto box probabaly and 07 or 08.

Any tips or "wacth outs" I need to be aware of in terms of the specification, maintenance, or condition?

Thanks!!

Darren, 20 inch rims (the 19's look weedy), Bose stereo (my first one didnt have it and it was a bit pants), Skyhook suspension.....because it just sounds cool (never did bother sussing out what it did over the standard stuff)

And keep away from 'dog nob red' leather

I would echo Mosi, particularly with regards the red leather. Some of the cars you see are very basic spec wise (although there is not an extensive extras list anyway) and I would suggest you try to get a car with the seat comfort pack (comes with seat heating easy entry etc), Bose stereo (although to be honest it is no great shakes but better than the pants standard one)and parking sensors. The piano black trim is quite nice (with the right colour leather - the cream is good and not an issue to keep clean) but there are some very dubious red and blue trim colours which frankly make the interior look cheap.

I would also not get that hung up about skyhook, I have the GT-S which I have got without and the ride is really a very good compromise between handling and comfort. It should also be somewhat cheaper as well, although I think you will find that most have it. Good luck!

The S has a different suspension set up to the standard car. So for the standard car make sure you get Sky Hook.

Front parking sensors a good idea.

I have found the Creme Leather a pain to keep clean.

Are you refering to the Quattroporte GTS rather than the Granturismo? Skyhook was standard on all QP's bar the GTS which was only sold in limited numbers and designed to run without it. Here is a copy of the GT price list circa 2007.

Dealmaker - are you still looking for the right car? I'm toying with selling my 57 plate GT. Let me know if you're interested in a conversation.
