My 2.5 has developed an unpleasant groaning and squeaking from the steering. It is not necessarily temperature related, as it can happen early morning when the car is cold. A year or so back, Plans told me they did a repair to the rack; but I don't actually know what. They also lead me to believe it was no longer available.
Is this noise likely to be the rack? Having homed in on it with my lughole, it sounds like the section where the column fits into the rack. Can they be repaired, what car is it from, etc? Cheers fellas.

Racks can be repaired if they're a bit worn, think theres a place called "the rack shop" wink

Although i'd be surprised If Noble can't get you one.

Thanks fellas. I topped up with dot3 and sprayed a bit of wd around and thought all was well. Lasted about an hour! Groaning started again. Will check out those ball joints. The cars clocked up 42k now so I expect they are worn.
