Guys,

I'm about to get my first BMW, an E46 Touring 330i which I'm really excited about. However, a potential deal breaker has come up in the shape of the baby seat. The baby will be newborn (in about 3 weeks!) and so the seat will be rearward facing.

Will one of these fit in the back of an E46 Touring?

Thanks!

I have a maxi cosy rear in the back of my saloon, so I don't see why you wouldn't get it in your touring

We get a rear facing silver cross something or other in the back of our touring no problem. The only thing you have to watch is to make sure the seatbelts are long enough for your chosen seat (if you don't have the ISO fix fittings that is). Oh, and if your tall you might not be able to move the front seat all the way back.

We have a gracco travel system with base for our new born. Fits in the 3 series fine, bit tight in the 1 series though.

I've had front and rear facing baby/child seats in my E46 Touring, with problems at all.

I do all of the crash testing for a very well known child seat manufacture & you shouldnt have any problems at all in finding something that fits.

Would strongly recommend getting one that uses the Isofix system (these plug in to hooks built in to the seat). We have a Maxicosy Cabriofix which fitted well in to our E46. It also comes out top in crash tests.
