Wing mirror holes
Discussion
Hi all - my TVR has pretty M3 style wing mirrors but its left unsightly holes on both sides where the old mirrors were once affixed. Whats the best way to prepare, fill and cover these? I've managed to source the paint so thats no problem but wondered how best to create a clean finish without just stuffing it with tooth paste.

Can you get at the back of this area ?
I would be to remove and invert the door, a bit of sanding to inside to provide a key, then block the holes from the outside with parcel tape (GRP doesn't stick very well to parcel tape) and then add a couple of the layers of fibreglass matting & resin inside the door, Once it's set you can make good the outside.
Either that or see if the PH "speed matters" decals are big enough

If the original mirrors were bolted through the 'triangles' at the tops of the doors, the holes will be through the steelwork as well as the GRP door, in which case the tidiest option would be to have them welded and ground back. But then you'll have trashed the plastic coating...
However, it is true that polyester resin doesn't stick to parcel tape.
