The Canon FS4000US (slide scanner) will scan APS films, but it isn't that cheap - around £450.

Do you mean a negative scanner?

The FS4000 is a film rather than flat-bed scanner, and has attachments for scanning 35mm mounted slides, 35mm negatives and processed APS films (which are given back to you as the complete film unit rather than negatives).

I mainly use mine for scanning slides, along with the occasional negative, but have never used it for APS.

No, there were a few on the market where you put the used cassette into and the machime did the rest. That's what I an after but cant justify £400 + for one
