price of new clutch and fitting

just come back from brooklands and my clutch slipped a few times. so thinking it may need a new one very soon. was wondering how much are they and what damage will i be looking at including fitting. or is it easy to do myself.
it may just be the fact i was doing some 11s down at brooklands on way out and may have just heated clutch up too much and needs to cool down again.

The AP Clutch for a 6 speed is about £400 inc VAT.
I don't know the price for the 5 speed.

James, nice to meet you today and I sincerely hope you don't need a new clutch as it's either an engine out job or cutting/re-welding the chassis - both expensive.
Before venturing down this route however, the clutch is hydraulic so make sure you bleed first.
Whether 2.5/3/3R/M400, the clutch is a similar price, but it's the fitting that's the expensive bit.
If you have to replace the clutch, there are things you should consider doing while the engine's out. More expensive now but a saving in the long run

nice to meet you also. im hoping not aswell. however my mothers partner can do it. it was weird when changing gear quickly it would lag for a second then would go proply. but if lifted clutch a bit slower did not do it. very weird. if anyelse could shed a light on y it could do this it would be great. only done 27k so should not need a clutch. just co-incedence that after doing some elevens, (look great on the straight coming out of brooklands by the way. almost went back to take a pic)( very childish i know i must be sensible in future) it did this.

I removed my engine, bit of a fiddley job but is fairly straight forward, its all going back in thursday/friday/sat, will take pictures and post them as i go. First engine removal/clutch change i've ever done.

I've also had my engine and gearbox out and although it's a fairly lengthy process, well it is when you take as many tea breaks as I did!! , it's a pretty straightforward one.

good news my cris not longer being weird with the clutch side of things so think it was just her way of telling me to treat her better
