Mad Friday Le Mans Classic?

I've been to the Classic event and I will go again, no matter what you think I should be doing.
My main interest isn't the burnout session but I reckon it would add to the fun seeing English blokes making asses of themselves.
Jokes appart, I was just interested to know if it would be possible to see fast and exotic modern cars spinning their wheels and making some noise. The drink abuse that comes with it is of no interest for me. At least during the Classic event!!!
But now I have the answer to my question.

If you have been to the classic and appreciated the atmosphere of the whole event I find it very surprising that you have even considered that there might be anyone doing burnouts or anything else replicating mad Friday. The classic is all about appreciating cars, if you want to watch burnouts find the car park where your local cruise takes place, probably not many classics involved in it....
Mad Friday last year was crazy!!!!!!!!!!!! We watched practice at Arnage, Mulsanne and Karting. Then we went mad and had a couple of beers sat roadside watching hundreds of wonderful machines driving about. After that we went really daft and walked to Tetre Rouge for a beer and watched some more practice till gone midnight.

Mad Friday DOES exist at the classic. Let's face it no sane person would walk about on a Friday in July in Le Mans wearing THAT MUCH tweed!
The only other Mad Friday event at the classic I can think of is people washing their cars...while the rest of us just wait for someone to cough somewhere in the camp site, re-covering their cars in Le Mans dust.

A burn outs is so very Sergio Tacchini tracksuit.
Petersport are importing ground glass to scatter around any car suspected of attempting a burnout. Also, any car driven by someone wearing a track/shell suit will receive the same treatment. Bar owners are doubling the prices for naff dress attire. Oh, For those whose pleasure such things are I believe that parking you car in parts of SE London can achieve this desired effect, followed by the ceremonial bonfire lit by the thugs who stole it.
I do sincerely hope that the Classic stays like the Revival - a pleasant family affair, not an excuse for the Friday night vomit crew to forgo their new ASBOs and carry on as they do in Greece, Spain and the Balearics.
I actually have some wonderful photos of cars spinning up their rear wheels, driving on opposite lock and doing vastly excessive speeds, but all on the track as it should be.

The bookings for the Classic are like hot cakes, we are already at 80% capacity at Le Bounty.
It appears the great success we had for last years GP and 24 hour has got round.
The Classic is just so relaxed everyone enjoying the cars and the spirit of the event no idea who wins what class, don’t think it matters lol, more like a club event........I can’t wait for it but have the GP and the 24 first to look forward to.

Am I getting old (well yes, I am) but I find the very question soooo scary. There was I, happy in the knowledge that all the headbangers were happy to continue ruining what used to be a very enjoyable race meeting in June, whilst leaving that haven of classic motor sport and non loony fun to the rest of us every 2 years. Maybe the odd spirited drive up the outside of MB where we were camping but other than that.....
But if I missed something do tell and I will go and give them a jolly good slap with a wet lettuce leaf, to teach them a lesson.......
Well not full on burnouts I agree, just screechy tyres and loud exhausts as they work us up driving round and round in circles while drinking from a thrmos cup in one case!
Although I must say what a nice way to wake up at a CAR event!!
Problem is the range of classics covers an awful spread of enthusiasts and we're never going to get them all to agree on what is and is not the done thing.
What would be good, is if the organisers could group the camping in era order?
Chap next to us was a very nice and had a Fraser Nash (I think) and was a bit put out by the Cobra drive by's, but if he could have got a camping ticket to say the "30's Bently" camping area, he would have been much happier.
I would of course stay in the Cobra, GT40, TVR et all area myself!!
ETA - I knew I got photo from my tent!

by the way the only left hooker we had in our group was the ally bodied Kirkam and that was still bare metal....ie silver...
Still its better than 2006 when they were drag racing at the top of MB !!!!
Hope to make it down to the next classic for a massive stag weekend, the "normal Le Mans event just gets more and more restrictive, we decided on the Classic event as a more relaxed event to "let our hair down" if you know what I mean.Love all the Classic stuff to bits but without all the police restrictions we can have a blast. Also less people means safer wheel spinning and the usual antics.
Just hope its a hot one as the super soakers never go down well if its cold and overcast.
Also wondered if there is a Classic Nissan/Jap car area where we can all park/camp. About 30 of use plan to set up camp with the ususal "back up van" coming down later with booze, sound system ,fridge,firework, go-peds and quads.
