Fitting oil pressure/temp gauge

Will be doing the above this week, while removing my engine the wire which goes into the sensor in the sump was ripped out (My friend and I both failed to notice it somehow) now im told the gauge/wire/sensor comes as one and the original cant be fixed.

Soooo, what do i need to do to get the gauge into the dash and run the wire/sensor to the sump? I hope its not a floor off job, was planning to do the floor/cooling mod this winter...

Easy job to do, there's a louvered access panel in the center of the floor pan held on with about 12 screws, remove it then feed the sender down through the dash and to the access hole then along the tunnel to the engine bay. It helps if you have something like a long bit of wire to feed down the tunnel first. The worst bit of the job is getting your arm up behind the dash to undo the gauge fixing nuts.

Was hoping to here it had something to do with that louvered panel Doesn't sound too bad to do then.

Please report back after this bit if you can still type. Ok if you've got thin arms the length of a orang-utan. Ideally with at least 2 elbow joints.

I'm a skinny bugger at 6ft weighing in at 11 stone, so my arms do seem to fit the required description. will let you know how it goes... or doesn't
