Wildest dreams?

Just saw this for the first time today- what a great idea for a reality tv show! In case you haven't seen it; a bunch of nature-lovers get the chance to work for the BBC making nature documentaries, are set challenges and whittled down ala every other reality TV show. But the idea of such a prize to these people makes a welcome relief from all of the "It's so great being a primadonna pop-star wannabe, it would mean everything if I got your vote" stuff.
Today, they were given free reign to make a mini documentary in Mzima Springs in Kenya, normally an amazing place for filming hippo's & the like, but now in the middle of a drought. They didn't pick up on the severity of the situation until their last day of filming, with one team already deciding what they were going to storyboard before even seeing the place, and the others too wrapped up in the excitement of seeing great animals in their natural habitat to notice the drama unfolding under their nose.
It wasnt life-changing TV in the way that some things are, but it killed a good half hour, and I'll certainly keep an eye out for it next time it's on. Just thought I'd give out a heads up, should you want to iplayer it.

It's an entertaining programme but the contestants on it are (imo) pretty useless. That they failed to see the actual story at the springs or recognise that it was parched, dry and the hippos were grossly underweight was shocking :S
There's masses of amateur wildelife enthusiasts and film makers in this country who I'm sure could do a much better job.
Does make a change from the usual nature and reality shows though

Yeah, I couldnt't help but think there must be a thousand nature fans out there gagging for an opportunity like this. I guess the point of reality TV is to give golden opportunities to those who would never have thought it even possible, but it must stick in the throat of all the guys out there living on bread and water to fund their attempts to get that big break.
