The missus has one, there's a company that offers 50 quid for them but it seems they're worth a lot more!

How would she go about selling it? eBay advert?

What's a realistic price for one? I've seen them go for thousands on eBay, surely they're not /that/ in demand?

+1 don't think the value of them is ever likely to go down so no harm in holding onto it for a while

It's a little early to get definite values of them, The ones that "sold" for thousands on ebay would result in either non paying bidders, or red faced buyers.

Until it settles at a decent supply rate, and the true rarity can be seen, you can't really value it with respect to it's uniqueness.

Maybe they'll just keep turning up, and be worth a fiver for the next ten years or so.

My mum gave one into a shop, the till girl spotted it, and my mum asked if something as up, she said it's one of those ones with no date on it, and i assume pocketed it!

Why would 20p be worth more than 20p ??

Even if it doesn't have a date...its still just 20p is it not?

I could scrub the date off a 50p or a £1 coin ....what would that be worth? .... yep...50p and £1, and probably a fine for defacing legal tender or something like that.

Yes, but some "rare" items sell for more than their face value.
It's not difficult to comprehend surely?

Well I could deface any coin to make it 'rare', as no other would be defaced in the same way.

And don't call me surely. ;-)

Well, that's a silly comment isn't it? Stamps sell for £thousands and they're only really worth the pence of their face value...

What about cars? They can surely only be worth their RRP or less!

Things are worth what people are prepared to pay for them, no more, no less.

silly is as silly does

My posts above are meant to be a little tounge in cheek. Just idle banter really.
I know its not the norm on pistonheads as everyhing is always taken litterally.

But yes I know what you mean, people pay for what they want.

Sorry my crystal ball is in for its annual service at the moment.

I find smileys are a good way of defining context otherwise. smilewink

I think you'll find , she will keep it so safe , she will actually lose it

Or "mistakenly" use it to pay for something
