What aircraft documentary am I thinking of ?

Was about 20 -25 years ago when I was a kid. Seem to remember a group of Americans found, or knew of, a B-29 ( I think ) that that had force landed some place very cold which was snow covered most of the year ( again,I think )and was only reachable by another aircraft with snow skis.
They rebuilt a lot of the aircraft and replaced all the engines and had it ready to fly out after even building a runway ! Now the part that sticks in my mind after several years of slowly rebuildng it, was that during the taxi to take off, a fire started and the whole thing went up leaving them to just sit and watch ! It was one of the most heart breaking things I think I've ever seen on TV.
So what was it ?

It was a 1996 programme entitled "B-29 Frozen in Time".

The aircraft went down in Greenland near Thule AFB in 1947 and carried the nose name 'kee Bird'.
