Recorded this movie on SKY anytime ane watched it tonight. It's slightly weird (it's Tarantino after all) but the last 20 minutes or so are brilliant!

I can't approve of a 70 Challenger 440 being abused in such a way, or a 70 Charger come to that but the chase scene and final denoument are fantastic. And the earlier crash scene was shocking.

It's shot in the style of a 70's film noir. Good movie for 70's music (Jeepster from T-Rex sounded great) sexy girls in short shorts and great 70's American muscle (Challenger, Charger, 71? Mustang, 70 Nova etc..

Recommended for car / music / totty fans.

This car is 100% death proof. Only to get the benefit of it, honey, you REALLY need to be sitting in my seat.
One of those films that isn't very good, but is actually very good. If you know what I mean.....

Excellent use of sound track (i.e Hold Tight in the last scenes) Muscle Cars, Kurt Russell as the faded Stunt man Pysco and Vanessa Ferlito's flawed Beauty.

Brilliant Film.

It would be watchable if they'd let a decent editor at it to cut out the interminable, pointless, tedious dialogue.

It's one of those films that I love but annoys me alot, all the bhing women annoy me but Kurt Russel is fking brilliant in it.

The car chase and crashes are also great.

I just love the fact that Stuntman Mike goes from the coolest man ever to a sobbing wreck in an instant.

favourite bit though.... when Stuntman Mike is trying to get the glovebox open past the roll cage, how many times has that happened to me and other PH'ers?

I think that's what happens when it is shown as part of 'Grindhouse'?

To be honest, this didn't really float my boat and I am generally a Tarantino fan.

I found it really dragged in places, and the car chases, in my opinion, were nothing great - see much better in other films.

Tarantino does this at least once in every film.

Best bit of the Grindhouse combo was the commercials IMO.

Didn't think that much of it, to be honest I think it's his weakest film. Just too much pointless dialogue with people you don't care about.

Now Planet Terror, that was awesome!

The reaction to that was so good, that they're actually making it!

After enjoying Death Proof I was really looking forward to Planet Terror, and love Robert Rodriguez, but I thought it was bloody awful. When you look past the gimicky editing, effects and direction the script and plot were very poor.

Yep, I was going to say the same thing. Like the Jewhunter opening scene in Inglorious Basterds.
I know what you mean about a long section of dialogue, but I wouldn't say it was pointless. It's just one of QT's things.

That was the point! It was a homage to all the low budget, "gimmickly" edited Zombie B-movies of the past, with rubbish special effects, terrible acting, and awful plots.

I happen to love rubbish Zombie flicks, and thought Planet Terror was excellent!
