The Authorities have been on to me re last Friday
Discussion
Problem is you never know who is about or who you are talking to :-
Seems that in a convoy of Vipers one was seen on the motorway by an off duty Traffic Inspector who noticed in his words 'A very poorly driven Viper with race numbers and graphics on the side'.
He overtook the officer in question on the slow lane and the officer asked me if all Viper owners felt that they owned the road, he was also quite prepared to complete a process book as soon as he was on duty for 'Driving without Due Care' and this would have led to a court appearance, It transpired I used to work with him and managed to convince him that this was not neccessary as the owner was a sensible driver who must have just got a bit under the collar. Phew, so thats one problem over with.
Remember, when you drive on the public road all of us represent the Viper Club and owners of other vehicles and authorities are quick to define all Viper owners as complete cocks and give all PC's an excuse to stop us.
Also if you make your car destinctive with graphics or wings and numbers you are so easy to trace and I would be loath to withhold your details to an offcer of the law as that would be perjury.
Please in future the road is not your personal race track and if you want to then 'Save it for the Track' very few people are impressed by poor driving least of all the law.
Thanks for your understanding, now off to pack for Germany

Just to add we have to be especially careful when in convoy for a number of reasons,
1) it could be considered illegal for us all to travel together in the first place.
2) its bad enough with other drivers behaving funny at the sight of all these vipers in one place, we have all been there with them hanging in blind spots taking photos etc. It takes an extra level of attention, anticipation, care and consideration when we are together, we need to be predictable among ourselves at least.
3) its unusual for us to be driving around cars that are as fast (or if you have a red car, faster) than ours, so that needs extra attention also.

The Viper undertook in the slow lane, or overtook a car that was in the slow lane ?Seems that in a convoy of Vipers one was seen on the motorway by an off duty Traffic Inspector who noticed in his words 'A very poorly driven Viper with race numbers and graphics on the side'.
