Doing a car photoshoot and need some help with locations. Can the PH's here help with some good scenic spots, good backdrop locations and/or driving roads fairly close to Helmsley. Would be great if a local could make some creative and unusual suggestions and your imput would be appreciatied.

Drive over the top from Helmsley to Stokesley is a superb road to drive, although a while since i've been over it and i believe they've put 50 restrictions on a large chunk of it now.

Interesting litle latticework iron bridge just wide enough for one car - turn off A169 Malton/Pickering road, to go to Eden Camp, don`t turn in - just keep going & it`s 1.1 miles. Lots of pretty places along the way as well!
Kirkham Priory would make a good backdrop as well. You could also park it up in the entrance to Porky`s scrapyard in Showfield Lane Malton.
Post `em up here please!

NSL all the way apart from villages, but there aren't many stopping places to take pics.

We do all our photoshoots at two locations, one is just off the Pickering to Whitby A169, turn left to Goathland and use the layby 200 yards on the left after the cattle grid.

The other is about half a mile before The Lion on the Hutton Le Hole to Castleton Road at Blakey, laybys on the right hand side.

Thanks all for your input..will put all ideas to photographer tomorrow and if i can get some shots ( i will be doing the driving and the camera man is from a magazine so not sure i will have access to shots till after publication) i will post here, or rather get someone who knows how to do that to post here! Always great support on PH, and once again, thanks.

If it's for a magazine, if you're lucky enough to get copies of them, you won't be allowed to post them on here before the magazine is published, and possibly not after (legally).

EDIT: They would be good to see though, which magazine is it (so we can keep an eye out)?

Did not want to pre-empt magazine but it came out today so to all who helped with info the pics are in the latest OCTANE magazine....as per some of your suggestions shots were taken on the Stokesly Rd and in the moors via Hutton La Hole ( not sure of spelling)..lots of shots but very few made the magazine as is always the case and for once, on a perfect sunny day with vistas of purple heather, i think, and the writer thinks, the shots were cropped too tight on the cars! Yes the cars are the heros in a car mag, but in this case it would have been great to see the expanse and beauty of the setting....for those who are into Ferraris and Lamborghinis its a great read and look for green Miura and red Daytona on the cover. My car is on page 54.

Sounds good. I'll get the new edition when it comes out locally. Still had the old one today.

You'll have been in all the magazines soon smile.

Yes!! Working on it although it might be due to the fact mine is the only LP400 in the club so when mags phone i get the call! Car is in fashion at the moment so have to take the oportunities that arrive....saw there was a yellow one at the Hurlingham club do in London recently and one from Geneva in front of Lord March's house at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this year ( in orange too!). At the time it was parked with all the concept cars and did not look out of place. The interior had been redone in blue leather and was fabulous and the paintwork was perfect.
