Sauna Suits for fitness/ weight loss?
Discussion
What do you guys think of these?
Any one used on? Yes I realise the majority of the weight loss is water weight, but on a long term basis i am thinking that it will help my resistance a lot as well if I run 8-10k every day in one?
Also as you are sweating/ heating up more profusely surely this raises your metabolic rate and therefore helps the burning of calories.
I'll just get in before everyone else and say yes I understand the risks of dehydration/ heat stroke/ exhaustion and will obviously take these into account. Common sense is the key here.
Cheers guys

I realise that fitness is 95% diet and 5% working out.

Now this is something you are truly misguided about. Who the hell put that rubbish in your head??

Edited to refer to question: The suits are a little bit mis guided as they only really help you lose stored water rather than fat. To loose fat its better to exercise for a long duration.

okay well i will post up my tpical daily diet and see what you guys think then:
Breakfast:
- porridge with raisins and 2 slices of brown bread
Lunch:
- Baked potato with tuna
Dinner:
- 2 grilled skinless chicken fillets with boiled rice and steamed veg
Thats how it typically is but varies day to day but staying around the same idea with grazing of fruit and or mixed nuts in between

What do you actually want it for? What are you aiming to get from it? In short, what are your actual requirements?
Well my aim is to lose a little bit of weight (I am currently 5ft9 weighing in at 11.5 st) Just feels like I have hit a plateau and need that extra oomph to get over it. I run every morning and vary CV and resistance training in the evening giving myself Sundays and Wednesdays off inthe evening for recovery.

That is an exellent diet so thats not the problem - like i said above if you want to burn more fat exercise for longer rather that wear a suit as the suit just looses more stored water than anything else.Breakfast:

I run for about 30 - 45 minutes in the morning and spend a further hour and a half in the gym in the evening.
I was just thinking that the suit will essentially make things harder for me so will have to work harder in the same time frame.
Does that make sense or am I askew?
Yea that's basically the idea of the suit but it't not really that benifical especially as it messes with your bodys "cooling" system. When you do CV are you doing HIIT (High intensity Interval Traning) Basically do a 1 minute sprint 2 minutes regular - repeat for say 30 mins - If your not dead after that your not working hard enough. If your fat loss has plataeu'd then you need to up the intensity of your training.

Yes I tend to do aerobic running every other day and farklet training inbetween fixed points on my route. I think I'm just going to have to get up earlier and run for longer

I guss I'll just have to keep maintaining my usual routine and work it off gradually.
Cheers matey

So in other words you are actually at a target weight and fitness level. You eat well and do enough exercise to be healthy.
The suit then will be pointless.
If you just have fat around a certain area, concentrate exercise on that area, slim down the overall exercise activity, indeed cut the running down and replace with backsack/rucksack and a walk instead. It will strengthen and work the back more.
Use a few braincells and common sense.

You do realise it is entirely impossible to 'focus' on a certain area for fat loss don't you???The suit then will be pointless.

And how am I not using common sense or brain cells??? I have a friend who is semi pro level Muay Thai Boxer who regularly uses a sauna suit to cut fat/ weight and not just so he can cut for a weigh in either. So it was a simple question to everyone here to see if they are worth trying out.
Hmmmmm still a bit confused really as what the need for the common sense/ brain cell comment was for?
