Modified Insurance

My last thread on the subject was mysteriously deleted so here we go again:

Just renewed the insurance with Sky Insurance as per Mel's recommendation (thanks for that). All mods/power increase declared and and insured for replacement at the cost of £700 including legal cover and protected NCD. Not bad?

Mines got some mods but I don't think nearly as many as yours, got it through Sky at 650 so seems reasonable.

Could I just ask what's this Sky of whom you speak? (Didn't realise Murdoch's empire had stretched to car insurance!)

Reason I'm asking is I just phoned Adrian Flux for a quote on a VXR500 and wanted to see what other people came out at, so the more suggestions the better

Just called Alex at Sky. Really knows our cars and all you guys who have insured with them. Only trouble - they focus on sub £20k modified cars, so unable to quote on the new BAthurst S...

Think they owe you something for all the referrals Mel!

Yeah they phoned yesterday and Col told them they owe us a drink. I only mentioned them as they were the cheapest with the most cover for us They are really competitive with the V8's at the moment. I'm glad you guys have gotten some discount

I dont understand that. Wormus is supercharged to the hilt and he got a good quote. Did you mention this forum or even me?

Yep, that seems a bit rich. I've seen people quote before that its normally another 100 odd quid for a supercharger.

I managed to get mine for £800 from Sky, whilst it’s not pushing as much power as Worums, it’s probably got more mods overall.

There were very few companies that even wanted to quote, a lot seem to have a 6 mod limit, go above this and they can’t or won't quote.

Martin, just received my draglites from the states. Brilliant, including skinnies for the front. Bloody cheap, $112 per rim IIRC and such good quality.
