The time has come for a new daily; the CC is on my shortlist (24hr test drive booked for September), it'll be one of the diesels (140 or 170, depending on how cost of options pans out - I must have cruise, back-up-beepy jobs, and leather...).

SOOOoooo.....any resident PH owners have thoughts to share? I've avoided all VWs for a number of years due to the appalling customer service I had in the past (interior damage, lost service history, rude staff, etc) and a general dislike for the VAG diesel after time served with a PD-engined A4 (noisy, uncomfortable, did I mention noisy) but I gather the new engines are more refined.

Any observations, comments and suggestions gratefully received!

Aren't the newer diesel engines supposed to be less reliable then the PD engines? Having owned a Polo back in '94-'98 and now having recently bought a Jetta in Nov last year, I wouldn't say the dealers have improved that much.
