The wife bought me a supercar experience for crimbo and i booked it and took advantage of it at the weekend in a gallardo. Performance wise blows your mind but the wedge sounded loads better

Ditto although not a Supercar but the Morgan experience at Knockhill last Thursday, did a few laps of the track first in a SEAT thingy then into the Moggy, V8 Supercharged pushing out 350bhp, seriously quick and great fun. Instructor was a top bloke, we talked cars and when he heard I had a wedge he kept me out for a few extra laps and to show me the ropes, he then took the wheel and talked me through the track and driving the car in a lot more detail. Great fun

The instructor seemed to be a bit put off when he took me round in a subaru to show me the layout and i said that the wedge would have this LOL sort of pi**ed him off his reply was not through gravel and trees it wouldnt blah blah blah. Have the wedge anyday over the jap thingy.
That'd go down like a ton of bricks.
Did one of those last year for my 40th.
Drove a Lambo Murcialago (sp), gave it some beans and found it to be on par with a Nissan Micra in my list of all time disapointing cars. I consider £200 spent for the day as £165,000 grand saved in not buying one. The steering had no feedback and it didn't feel particularly quick. It felt like all the fun had been engineered out of it. Perhaps it was too competent for it's own good.
However, the Astom Martin V8 Vantage was a great car to drive on the same day. Plenty of character, felt planted on the road at whatever speed and sounded really good when given some welly. I would love to own one of these at some stage.
Looking back on the day, I enjoyed the experience. Even the fast laps in the New Scooby Doo were good as it showed what a technical marvel the car is underneath the coma inducing exterior.
The main outcome of the experience was that it reinforced to me that the Wedge is very hard to beat. It would not have been much slower than the exotica that I drove that day on that particular track layout and it would have been more fun as the wedge has that cetain character that makes every drive that bit more special and it's £158,000 cheaper than the Lambo and rarer too.

That's what I've always said about the Impreza (and the Skyline) - loads of ability wrapped in the metalwork equivalent of grandma's beige knickers. I know there are people who say 'Ah, street sleeper' etc. but it's not like nobody knows how good they are (boggo shopping cart version aside).Take the average man in the street and show him a TVR wedge and a Skyline/ Impreza; based on looks alone, most would expect the Wedge to be quicker/ better handling/ 'sportier'. So why not, Mr Subaru, wrap up your technical wizardry in something that looks like it could chew up rainforests and spit them out? You'd clean up. Even the Mitsu Evo, in all its incarnations, still looks like your dad's hatchback has had a bad Halfords experience.
Imagine something with a hint of Murcielago or a sniff of McLaren F1 rather than a bad dose of visual diahorrea like the Hyundai S coupe. Please. I might even buy one!

Similar to my experience some years ago in a Nissan 300ZX twin turbo monster. Fast as phuck in a straight line, huge brakes. But felt totally disconnected from the road and about as aurally exciting as a gnat's fart.Drove a Lambo Murcialago (sp), gave it some beans and found it to be on par with a Nissan Micra in my list of all time disapointing cars. Later the same week I drove a TVR 350i. It rattled and shook, the glovebox kept opening by itself, it scared the bejasus out of me... it was exciting! Admittedly at lower speeds but the fastest car on the road is still going nowhere in a traffic jam

You guys pick all the wrong cars...
Thruxton is a good venue for these huge cars as well because its fast enough for them, plus, if you fill up with fuel at Tesco all year, you get loads of clubcard points, and if you shop there and use their credit card you get loads more, so you get about £50 in vouchers over the course of the year.
£50 in vouchers is worth £200 at Thruxton, so essentially, I get a free one every year, last year was a F355 - I really want one a as a daily driver now, and this year was the F430 Scuderia, catagorically the BEST car on the planet. I'd drive it every day, there is simply NOTHING about it that isn't brilliant, bar the price.

£50 in a year?! I get at least triple that... fuel for bike, couple of cars plus the company van(s), hire cars, plus shopping... I have over £560-worth (at 1:4 exchange rate) in front of me as I type! Just booked next May's bike trip Eurotunnel return for £52 (£13 of vouchers), £50 of Pizza Express, magazine subscription... and that's just from the vouchers that expire at the end of this month!Tesco... gotta love 'em!
