SVA / IVA engine question
Discussion
Ok heres the problem -
I have an LS2 that has never been installed / registered in a vehicle, however instead has sat up on a pallet for approx 1 year collecting dust.
No problems with the engine, however at Parts world performance it is not my name upon the invoice.
Question - Will it get classed as a used engine, or will i still be able to obtain a standard registration plate. As ill also be installing my g50/52 refurbed to new.

I reckon it's a "second-hand" engine, which is not the same as a "used" engine...I have an LS2 never been installed / registered in a vehicle, however has sat up on a pallet for approx 1 year cvollecting dust.

what happens then is someone just got someone to write out a recept selling you a new engine which was bought from????????? would that be legal as after all you did buy a new engine but not directly from the orginal source?? i am not advising you to do that of course im only wondering??I have an LS2 never been installed / registered in a vehicle, however has sat up on a pallet for approx 1 year cvollecting dust.

It is DVLA you will need to convince but I agree getting it inspected by them in advance would be the way to go. All the better if it is still in the crate. You can't deal with DVLA centrally on this and if you do the registration yourself then it has to be at your local DVLA office. It is this office you would need to convince about the engine.
