heelppp ! me spiders wont fit...
Discussion
Evening all..
another relative newbie here.. 2yrs ownership under me belt and not that many major hiccups so far.
i have however laid me hands on the bad boy himself... the cerb 4.5 '98 in starmist chianti. a flying machine if there ever was one.
despite the cars obvious beauty tho.. i decided to change the wheels for the 18" tuscan spiders. Now... i know that you need to shave a little of the rear hubs to get the centres on... i did that. and i know that you need four tuscan fronts... i got them... got them all painted and new tyres on them.. tyres that are near as damnit keeping the rolling circumference the same as the old, and bingo.. the near side front rubs. It just catches the back of the arch as you turn in. Im sure there has been this topic here before and im sure im a numpty for not finding it. Nonetheless.. i cant. Am I the owner of a cerb that just doesnt like spiders ?.. Is there such a thing? or is there another hidden gem i need to know. I read that the steering lock should be inhibited to stop rub on full lock, but this isnt full lock.. at all... like inhibit it this much and itll be like the General Belgrano for a turning circle. (more so)
Any help appreciated. Otherwise offers on a newly sprayed spiders with brand new tyres anyone ?

You'll need to check the wheel offsets.
Fronts are 42mm and rears 33mm, this is the distance of the flange on the wheel to the centre line of the wheel.
If you have a rear on the front this will push the wheel further out and could cause the clash condition as it's arc when turning (scrub radius I think it's called) will be increased.
Take off the wheels and measure the distance from the flange to the edge of the rim and see if there is any variation in the distances.
Almost sounds like you have one rear and it's on the front left.
