could anyone on here pass on their experiences with the DSG box?

My annual mileage has come right down so am considering an M3 (E92) and I do like the idea of the DSG, but I also appreciate a lot of people prefer a manual box.

thanks in advance!

Hi mate!

I think you mean DCT, rather than the VW/Audi DSG system.

The DCT transmission is superb and better than SMGII for sure.

An extended test drive is essential.....you'll love its convenience in stop-start traffic, as well as super-quick shifts when having fun. A good manual is a great thing, but how many BMW manuals are actually that good.....like say that in CTR (best I've ever used)??

DCT all the way.....you won't look back!

lol - you are of course quite right - too much wine maybe? (actually I wish I had that excuse....)

I assume EDC is pretty much a mandatory option as well?

I will probably go second hand and be patient until the right car comes up

M-DCT is the best gearbox of its type I have driven.Great precise gearchanges and throttle blips on the downward changes.EDC Im not so sure about. Before I bought my car I drove both EDC and non EDC equipped cars and when it came to speccing my car I didnt bother with it.After 6 months of ownership I still feel the same way(my car is a convertible and I dont do any track days)
