Anyone had any experience of these?

http://www.renovobikes.com/

They look beautiful but do they really ride as well as their homepage reckons?

Why Wood?

Lightweight; a frame weighs from 3.5 to 4.5 pounds--bikes, 16.5 to 20 pounds
Erm.... 3.5 to 4.5 pounds is NOT lightweight when Carbon frames can weigh as little as 2 pounds!

They do look nice though.

What beautiful bikes - I'd love to have one of those.

Shame they don't display the price.

Those are stunning. I might not be a 'road racer' but I love the idea of one as my Commuter lick and the 'panda' works out to be about £800GBP...which ain't too bad

Your right.... i think they are barking up the wrong tree...

maybe they should branch off in to carbon frames....

Wooden bikes...i'd leaf them well alone...

The problem is that there's so much choice, one can't see the wood for the trees smile

I'd probably go for the MTB one, it looks like it wood be the most planted, plus being used in mountains/forests, it'd be like going back to it's roots.

I can't help but feel you'd get board pretty quickly. It wouldnt be long till you'd start pine-ing for your traditional alu frame.

Even with the weight of the metal frame, I'm sure if you cane it you'll still get to the beech on time but it'll be a close shave because I saw dust on it.

I would not touch one. The balsabearings would wear out in no time and you'd easily snap your handlebranch in a crash.
