Just looking for some help from the PH pedal powered masses.
Spent yesterday looking through the "Show off your bike" thread and there are some gorgeous looking bikes in there.
Anyway, started my new job a couple of months ago and luckily it's not too far from home. Only takes about 10 minutes to drive but recently have started walking as it's just a short walk over the common (live in Newbury and work is on the Greenham common industrial estate).
It's been a long time since I was in to mountain bikes and haven't touched one for a good 10 years. Used to ride a lot of trials and XC, had a GT Zaskar SE that took everything I threw at it without too many complaints.
Am now looking at a bike for using to and from work ideally taking the long route home and having a play on any trails I can find and also using the bike at the weekends as a bit of fun. Have missed biking and getting a bike to use to get to work is a good enough excuse for me to get one.
Have looked at the cycle to work scheme and whilst my company might go for it and there's a fair few people that might benefit from it I read that you have to be out of your probation period before you can apply so unfortunately that counts me out as I've done almost 3 months out of a 6 month probation and I've never been known for my patience.
So I'm looking for some bike recommendations. Off down the lsb tomorrow after work to see what they have. Really like the look of the Cove bikes and ideally looking for a hardtail.
