Ebays ridiculous free postage policy

What planet are Ebay living on where they think postage is free in the UK?

Who the hell are they to decide which items have free postage or not?

It was bad enough with DVD's and Games, especially if sending more than one to a buyer but I've just put an empty box on for a Sony Ericsson C905 and that has to have free postage! If I wander on down to the Post Office I assume they'll give me odd looks if I say "Postage is free don't you know? Ebay say so!"

Packing isn't free, postage isn't free, my time to the post office certainly isn't fking free, the sooner they're ran into the ground the better in my opinion.

Obviously were losing a lot of cash from the buy now "TV for £1, postage is £495" scam.....

eBay is nothing more than a licence to commit fraud, shame really as it was good in the beginning.

Can you not just set the postage costs as the reserve price?

For example, DVD box sets - ebay says I can't charge for postage, despite the post office charging £4.41

Of course you simply add the postage to the starting price, but I don't understand the policy.

Don't they get a percentage? If so - they're just making sure they get their cut of ALL of the money.

Because when you add the postage into the listing price it increases their fees. Nice of them eh, increase their own end whilst making you offer 'free' postage.

why didn't they just levy their 10% sales fee on winning bid + postage cost

you can then charge a fair price and get 90% of it off the buyer
