the tool thingys for extracting the original Pioneer head unit that I could borrow? Been to Halfwits, despite buying a new Sony stereo from them days earlier they would not and could not let me use the tools from their Pioneer stock for just five mins and do not stock the tool...it is also different form the new tools with the Sony unit. Tried all the other tricks inc. cutting a credit card into strips and using that. Can anyone out there help? Cheers KTG1000 p.s - If you're near to Newbury in Berkshire I'd be happy to come to you if that's okay.

If they have a hole near each corner like the old philips units, then I've got the tools.

I'm Just the other side of Reading to you and I'll be going along the M4 then northbound on the A34 up to Bicester Tomorrow if you want to neet somewhere on my route or we can arrange a meet somewhere another time if it helps.

Sorted! Thanks for the offers....went back to Halfords and pointed out that they should remove the old head unit for me as I'd bought a replacement from them....funny, the guy wasn't interested until I mentioned I had a TVR...I could hardly see him for dust heading out to the car park..

funny how people become more helpful and chatty when, following the "what's it for?" question, you reply with "a TVR".
