My original plan of a £1k 50" screen has altered as my budget is now 2k - so am i better of getting a great 50" screen or a bigger screen? AFAIK my viewing distance means a 50" set with 1080p is a bit wasted?

Set up is:

Viewing distance 10-15 feet
Source - SKY HD (and all the non HD sky stuff), 360, PS3, blueray

60" is a £3k TV...50" is a £2k one - which is my point. I can get a 50" screen for £1k (£700 even) so if i double my budget do i go bigger or better?

I went for one of these, too - couldn't quite justify the extra 1200 for the Pioneer, much as I'd have liked to.

A bigger difference in screen size between a 50 and a 58 than I'd expected, which convinced us it was the way to go for our room.

LG 60" 1080p 600Hz

Bring two grand and they'll give you £201 change.

That's what I would get. Been on a 63" for the last 3 years and love it, would never go smaller.

exactly ...and the kuros are not made anymore, as most people thought the same ...sure they looked slight better when side to side (hard to tell in isolation) , but not £1200 better frown

At that viewing distance I'd be inclined to go for size over absolute quality. Like said above if budget gets you a 58" panny thats the ticket, will give you the best of both IMO. £2k will get you a pretty good projector though...
