Discussion
Moved into a new build town/terraced house a couple of months back. Unfortunately they decided to finish taring the driveways and pavements without telling me and my car has a very fine spray/mist of tar on the bonnet, drivers wing and a little on the door and mirror. Have tried washing it off with no luck.
Builders want a quote so where's the best place to hand over my bb to get this removed and have the car re-waxed.
Don't say the dealer..lol

Is Polished Bliss not a little overkill for what the OP is looking for - tar film removal and polishing on a couple of panels? Not trying to be funny, but I always associated Polished Bliss with the very top end of the market, you know, four day details and big bills. Not sure the workmen would go for that if he is just getting quotes...
Polished Bliss sell some stuff called TARDIS for about £20 which is a paint friendly tar remover. Spray that on, leave for 10 mins, then wipe off with some soft cloths should do the trick nicely, then re-wax/polish yourself.
Alternatively, a clay bar should take most of it off quite quickly and easily with a bit of elbow grease, and again polish/wax yourself afterwards.

It's a Sep 2007 with 3.5k on the clock..bit of a garage queen. It had an expensive detail when I picked it up as BMW used it for product placement.. It's not got a scratch/swirl on her and when I wash it I use a jet wash and the 2 bucket mitt wash..

Sounds like a better option Alternatively, a clay bar should take most of it off quite quickly and easily with a bit of elbow grease, and again polish/wax yourself afterwards.

I think Polished Bliss would be what perfect. He was the car returned to its original detail, not some half arsed job.Quote would probably be in the region of £300.

Best in the business is Polished Bliss out in Kintore.
Clark is a member on here and also a real car enthusaist.
I'm certain they'll get it sorted.
If you pop over on Sunday they're doing an Open Day for the local Subaru community so you could chat about the issue with them then.

I use Detail Ecosse www.detailecosse.co.uk , i thought i was pretty good at this detailing lark until i got my car back after the detail and i was delighted.
