Woo Hoo it seams if the price is right i get to debadge the VX and give it back its real name
I know its an well covered topic but i haven't been allowed until now
So
1. Anyone done it and how did it go?
2. Does it leave any damage where they've been removed?? Holes etc??
3. Where from, link's please,
4. Is there and cheap copies to avoid(you know the type with only half the helmet on)
5. Any advice would be very much appreciated

4. Is there and cheap copies to avoid(you know the type with only half the helmet on)
you want Holden badges which look like this.... http://www.allholdens.com/holdenlion.jpg not HSV which look like this http://www.capa.com.au/pics/ls1_acc_badge_hsv2.jpg
5. Any advice would be very much appreciated
the back one peals off better if you use some thing to loosen the glue first. (lighter fluid works well)

Hi mel,
All Mine has left is the VXR badge on the boot. I used Tooth string stuff and warm to hot water. Just pour on the water and do a few slices through the foamy sticky stuff, then more water, etc.... Take your time and you'll have no problems. once the badges are off the rest of the foam sticky stuff should just peel off then remove any residue with your favourite residue remover. Lining and centreing the new badges, however is a different kettle of fish. May be worth putting a dot where the old one came from.
Ps there are no guiding holes

So thats ALL the badges held on with sticky foam, including the stupid great big Vauxhall emblem on the boot and the same on the Bonnet ??
I was worried the bootlid centre and bonnet centre was gonna be recess with pins (ala BMW) hence made no effort to remove yet !! ??
I reckon if thats the case I will remove all of them and then put a single R8 badge on the rear, and then wheel centres in Holden .........

Hi Mel,
The one on the front when I did mine was held on by three clips and was a pain to attach - I think I only managed to secure two of them but it held okay. There is a hole in the boot to locate the Vauxhall badge but the Holden one just stuck on on top of that afetr removing the VX badge. I also put Monaro badges on the rear quarters instead of the boot as this is how they are in Oz.
HTH, Jeff.

You can only get a Holden steering wheel badge if you replace the whole airbag unit ala £150 ish !! I got a Holden car wheel snipped off the lugs and blue tacked it in . I know it sounds c*** but if you take your time it looks better than the original . I hav nt replaced the boot / bonnet badges yet it adds mystique to the car . I have a set of HSV badges on the wheels got whole set from Monkfish .
De-Badged my Vauxhall lettering and the main centre Vauxhall Badge this evening using floss and warm water, went like clockwork thanks for the advice (Tar spot removed to remove some sticky bits)
Looks a million time better, might remove the front Emblem as well tomorrow......
Now to order those centre caps and some proper badges

The car i bought a few weeks ago was already fully rebranded as a 'Holden', which even goes as far as changing the welcome message on the dash display to show Holden and not Vauxhall. I obviously haven't owned the car from new, but i assume it would have originally said 'Vauxhall' on the welcome display?
Also, i noticed last night whilst driving in the dark that the RPM and MPH needle change colour from white to red when you pick up revs or speed. That is brilliant, my fav feature on the whole car i think?

That sounds very much like my car!!!
What do you know about it?
The car has been owned by me for about 3 weeks now after i bought it privately from a chap in North Wales. He owned it since Feb '09 i think. The person who owned it before him has spent an absolute fortune putting performance goodies on it, which i know very little about.
I have been told its pushing 400+ bhp but i haven't a clue or care to be honest, all i know is that i love it to bits.
