Griff LE 500 worth it?

Sorry if this has been done before.
Your thoughts please, are the LE Griffs worth the premium and will they hold residuals over a standard Griff, I see a badge 1/100 LE, bigger front lights, Small detail difference for dash vents and the seats are better (IMO) and some have a rear tilt plate holder, is this enough to warrant the current asking from some dealers, I almost brought the last Griff no.100 two years ago but thought better of the asking price and it’s future value, I couldn’t justify it and now I see number 90 LE for sale at a very reasonable price (coming down in value) but why would an LE with low miles be worth more than say, a restored as new Griff also for sale from a dealer?

That has to be one of the best LE's out there, I don't think that beauty will be around for long.

+ 1, totally agree, I never brought into the idea that a limited run of a high volume standard car is ever going to be worth any more, even though I have no.20 of 25, Type 25 SC Elise, it's never going to be worth more than a standard SC, I brought it at the right ££'££££ and this is my point, I don't think the LE is worth the extra over a well sorted or restored Griff, I will have another Griff in the future, I might even buy back my first Griff from my mate and spend 10/15k getting that sorted, for me the Griff is the best shaped sports car to come out of this country since the E type. i know the light are cavalier upside down, but the rear was designed with them in mind with the extra curve, in the recess to match...

the rear end was used in lots of publicity photos alone..

I don't think the rear treatment on the le works as well..

The fronts are an improvement though..

I think the front 'spot' lights ruin the look of the Griff. Hate them. Absolutely love everything else about the SE! May have bought one if i knew more about TVR's when i got mine!

Yeah and the Cerbera seats and the angled number plate blah, blah, blah, and some of them are not blue with a magnolia interior, what were they thinking of

Looks a beauty. The only thing that spoils it for me [I'm picky, I know] is the fact that the dash top is a different colour to the door top/surrounds. [wrong way around] I see this on many Griffs'. The door surrounds should be blue to match the dash so it flows through with the door cards being Magnolia, just think it would be better that way. As I said, Im picky but it woukld get on my nerves a bit and I'd have to change it.

There are some advantages to the LEs, so long as the aesthetics don't bother you:
1 End of the run and therefore better sorted straight from the factory
2 Powder coating on the chassis better than earlier cars
3 Corrado/Tuscan mirrors improve visibility esp in the blind spots
4 7 inch front headlamps with H4 bulbs, which give generally better visibility and full beams from the headlights AND driving lights
5 Aluminium stalks/handbrake straight from the factory
6 No plastic heating vents
7 16 inch Estorils at the front were the standard option and now easier to find tyres than for the 15 inchers on older cars

The first 50 or so still had rear-lit number plates. You could argue over the aesthetics of the wing mirrors/Cerbie seats/rear light clusters - all a matter of taste really. I like the dash developments - I think they suit the car.

Worth the extra? Well they have held their value, so I think so.
