I heard a bit of their original title from my brother a few years back and seem to remember finding it quite good/amusing. I liked a lot of the original stuff Jack Black did in Rock School too.

Anyway, watched Tenacious D - The Pick of Destiny the other night and really liked the music, ordered the soundtrack / the original album / Rock School Soundtrack straight away, and the first 2 turned up this morning.

Listening to Pick of Destiny at the moment and it's great stuff!

Anybody else like this?

Their first album is the better of the two. It taught me what a Cleveland Steamer is. I didn't really want to know...

Their sings are very funny, BUT they are also great tunes. Sometimes you get funny songs that are 'crap, but musically, these songs are also great. I like the fact they throw in a few 'sketches' on their albums as well.

What's the track called that runs while the credits are playing at the end of the film? Something about the The Metal never dying. Hilarious stuff. You could never accuse Jack Black of lack of enthusiasm.

They came to Melbourne about 6 years ago when they were doing their first tour for the first album, i ducked out of work and got them to sign my bootleg copy on proviso i bought their album! Very funny guys both of them, had a good chat with Jack Black.

With karate I'll kick your ass!

I loved the first album but The Pick of Destiny left me cold. Nowhere near the quality of the first album and I think I ended up turning the film off.

The first album remains firmly one of my favourites however!

And who plays the devil in the above clip?

By chance I happened to have a blast of Tribute on the iPod today. In fairness to them they're actually talented musicians, as well as funny men! Proper giggling at some of the lyrics.
