We did this trip back in June but have been busy so not had chance to post up. The full trip details and write up can be found here:

http://www.meganesport.net/Eurotrip09/

The route we took was Home - Hull - Nurburgring - Heidelberg - Davos - Bormio - Garda - Innsbruck - Stuttgart - Cologne -Amsterdam.

Suffice to say it was a trip of a lifetime and for anyone thinking of doing something similar. Do it!

A few Photo highlights:

The weapon of choice (sadly now sold)

A very full boot!

On track at the ring

The famous Davos to Bormio "top gear" road

bit snowy in June!

the obligatory stelvio shot:

came to a closed pass in Italy

first view of lake garda

Venice!

our luck with the weather ran out on the way to Innsbruck

But changed again and we were treated to a brilliant sunset

Porsche museum

Final stop Amsterdam!

thumbup Excellent write-up, really enjoyed that. I couldn't believe the cheap caravan at Garda, I had no idea such places existed! Cheers for sharing your experience, it's really got me thinking about what to do next year....

Agreed, what a great write up. Makes me want to jump in the Cerbera right now and head off to Portsmouth Harbour!
That really is a trip of a lifetime. Most people only talk about doing a trip like this, me included. Fair play to you for actually doing it.

Hey, great trip and log fella -having just returned from a road trip to Croatia via many or near your destinations was good to re-live it! smile

NB Did you notice the 'overshoot' at Innsbruck ski-jump? It's the 'dead -centre' of the town.....eek

Yes the fact the cemetery is at the end of the jump didnt escape us!

We would have liked to have gone to croatia (about 3 hours from Venice) but we couldnt quite make it work with the other places we wanted to go.

Cool!

Cannot wait for our trip in 4 weeks starting at the Oktoberfest then onto Grossglockner, some bits of old Yugoslavia (Ljubljana, Slovenia and Rijeka, Bosnia and wherever lake Bled is!) then Stevio and the lakes and your piccies are keeping me salivating!!
