Microsoft Office radio ad

Just heard an ad on local radio. Lots of kids asking scientific type questions to their parents. The ad then says that with MS Word, you don't need to worry about these kinds of questions because your kids can make great school projects using the snazzy templates built in.

These ads are intensely annoying - Mum, how do you spell Ona...Onomato...Onomatopoeia? Well since you are struggling to say it you must be reading it in which case you know how to spell it... grrr.

Why the fk are they pushing Office 2007 in late 2009? Are MS that far behind the times.

I was actually saddened the other day when I saw a piece of work my sister had done for homework... it was a pamphlet, yes a pamphlet saying how to stop global warming by using energy saving bulbs.

When I started telling her (ranting) how MMGW was a myth she told me they weren't allowed to question the theory and that the info for the pamphlet had been dictated to them they just had to put some pretty designs round it. She got an A for doing a Rainbow.

She's 13 and this was for geography - pathetic

She actually doesn't believe in MMGW, she just keeps her head down and goes along with it becasue they fail if the question the BS they are told is 'true'.

It's no word on the street, it was pushed as a Microsoft update in this week's patches.

I guess they are pushing Office now partly because the schools, unis and colleges are going back and parents/grandparents are the target.
