The full story is that I hit a curb, scuffed the wheels, chuffed, then lost all power steering, pump started to make a noise but went off when fluid was poured in , now the pas don't work and fluid is pissing out the valve thing on the reservoir that has a sticker round it saying psi 1500,can't see any leaks elsewhere as such accept there, would be very greatfull if anyone could possibly know or has experienced this before, many thanks

Is that the green stuff, Pentosin? Is it not flammable and corrosive? I don't think I'd want to have it pi55ing out over everything in any case.

Can't help with the problem though, sorry.

Hi you need to wash all the pentosin away from any coolant pipes URGENTLY,just use water or pressure washer.Pentosin will cause any rubber hoses,(Coolant) to weaken, swell and split, also wash it from the exhaust as it will catch fire.
If you hit the curb that hard it may have blown the seals in the rack causing the pressre loss back through the return to the pump.

Thankyou for your input it is much appreciated,it was the nearside wheels that hit and the rack looks clean of fluid, don't know if that makes a difference sorry, when the front wheels are in the air the the steering is like a feather and steering wheel is central,it is a raid aftermarket wheel which was proffesionally fitted, I was only traveling bout 25mph

The rack boots have very effective seals against the rack and the track rods, the boots may be full of pas fluid without you detecting it. If you've lost fluid somewhere, that would be the favourite.

Did you hit the underside of the car? Could be you've flattened a pressure pipe, effectively starving the rack of fluid, the suction side of the pump would then empty the pipes into the reservoir, overfilling it?

Thankyou will check the boots, I did touch down on the underside of the car for a split sec just as the rear wheel then hit, pipe work seems to be ok down the left side but again I need to get a trained technician to make certain,I'm just trying to diagnose the problem first as I'm very interested in my car and how everything works on it,

Sorry to bump this, but after a few runs at Anglesey today, I was bouncing a n/s kirb then lost all PAS. Then lots of noise from the pump, but no leaks. Anywon else been here ?
