Karren Brady is to take over from Margaret Mountford to be a sidekick to "Lord" Sugar on the apprentice.

Why would she want to? She is a highly successful business woman in her own right. I can't understand why she would want to stand in subservient silence at the feet of the bearded barrow boy. Disappointed in you Karren, though that you were above the herd that would do anything to be "on the telly"..

yum

She's getting on a bit now, but I've fancied her since she first appeared in football.

Perhaps she's been promised the lead role in the future.

Because for some people they want fame. They have money, but they want everyone to know who they are.

For example, I don't honestly believe that the Dragons on Dragon's Den are there purely to make money, on the contrary, I don't think they often think they'll get much of a return, BUT they do want to be on TV..............

was she the one who was given a job running a football club because she was fit and ended up being really good at it?

Really?? She earns her money by being a famous business woman on TV, not through actually running any business successfully.

Genuinely confused at that...what's she been on other than a few episodes of Apprentice?
Pretty much keeps her head down and runs businesses doesn't she?

Nah. She's bright as a button, sharp as a tack. IIRC it was she who spotted an opportunity to buy BCFC on the cheap and persuaded Sullivan to put up the money.

Err, pretty girl works for porn barron. Sure he saw her business talents, however running a football club hasn't been one of them.

i thought that too at first... its strange she's taken up this role really as apart from a few lines per episode the observers dont do much to suggest that they're top business ppl.

she would've slotted in better on dragons den really.

I don't think she has enough personal wealth to qualify for "the den".

Both Margaret and Nick are very accomplished people but they were also Sugar employees of some kind so I'd assumed they were originally press ganged into it?

I believe neither were direct employees, just people Sugar had worked with in the past.

Well Margaret has been a NED of Amstrad since 1999 where Sugar was chairman until July 2008.....
