Spider roof inop

I have a alfa spider which the roof would not work-I have to manually open the back C cover plate so I think the motor is inop,But when I operate the roof switch the roof only operates for about 5 seconds, then turn the ignition off and on and it works again for 5 seconds. The Hydraulic oil level is fine. Has anyone any ideas?

Check the relays in the boot. Ours came loose and caused the problem with the cover release.
