Hi need some expert help please...

I only have photoshop elememts 4 and need help tp improve the background on photos that i need for a promotional event.

used a white sheet as a backgroung, not the best I know.

Would really like a totally white background but without loosing anything from the girls.

Can you advise me how to do this with elements 4 please?

Would need step by step as im a bit thick.

Quite a challenge you have set yourself there. Fully white background will make girl in white dressing gown appear as if blended into background and highlights blown all over the place. False hair held by girl on right will be difficult to hold detail as strands very fine.

You could try using calculations to create mask and then increasing levels of unmasked area could be done but even this would be pushing it to get a good result.

2nd photo easier but need careful brush work as heads of girls on far left and far right not bounded by background so more difficult to mask out.

Time at the screen or a reshoot with a better background and lighting would be my advice.

Other option would be to contact theimagefile and get their guys in India to do the work. Does not cost much and they can do amazing things to save pictures.

First pic is very washed out anyway so nowt you can really do with filters etc. best bet would be to spend time accurately cutting the girls out and put in a completely white background yourself. Will take some skill to get it looking spot on though. You will also need to draw in some of your own shadows.

Second pic I would do the same but at least there is some room to play with the colour/brightness on the girls.

Both will take a lot of work to get it looking right.
