Full Length Mudguards
Discussion
How much of a difference do these things make to the daily commute!!
After being soaked to the skin once too often during a typical Scottish summertime thunderstorm, I decided to kit myself out with some ful length mudguards.
Bought some SKS Thermoplastic jobbies from Wiggle and they arrived last week.
Bit fiddly to fit over the weekend (stays had to be trimmed down slightly, and the bracket that bolts onto the frame below the rear brake expects the hole to be 90degrees round from where it is on my Ridgeback! had to fabricate a bracket) but they are now on and really sturdy.
I was cycling through all the puddles this morning, laughing my head off at still being bone dry whereas before the mudguards I would have a lovely muddy streak up my back and front!
These have to be one of the best upgrades I have made to the bike since buying it!
Now all I need are lights, set of Ergon grips and some SPDs and i'm finished
