Thanks for that , is it possible for the owner to put another plate on it ? I understand that the Cat' whatever it was' will remain on the documentation ?

No interest in the car by the way apart from the fact that it is a Griff of course ! Just out if gerneral interest.

I got threatened with a Q plate recently and was wondering if it’s worth getting one.

Apparently the plates I have failed to show up on his ANPR and if you keep getting ticketed for this, DVLA take away your normal number and give you a Q plate.

If I had a number that they couldn’t readily notice the year, it might be cheaper and would save buying a pre-73 plate. scratchchin

And the ANPR on average speed cameras still wouldn’t be able to read me. hehe

went to court for second capture... court costs + fine ... now legal frown ... must admit getting tempted on dodgy spacing but legal type.

The BIB said it was the fact it was all non-reflective that stopped his ANPR 'seeing' my plates.

I have a black car with black plates and silver letters, sticky on front.

£60 irked

The government is introducing (at vast expense to the taxpayers) a wonderful new ANPR system.

It's been decided that what we all want is an ANPR camera every mile on every motorway in the UK.

Then we can have signs telling us how long it might take to reach the next junction.

Variable speed limit will be controlled by this too.

The government has even promised each index number will be encrypted.

So it won't be a giant national average speed camera system with pay per mile motorway tolls.

rolleyes

Sometimes this government is so good to me, I think I don't deserve them.
