That's a stinker Andy, I hope the damage isn't too bad. And to think you were worried whether your board would fit in the car - bet you wish it hadn't now eh?
I've had a similarly crappy start to the New year, managing to lose my watch in a drunken early hours snowball fight on the way home.
And the best bit? Having spent most of my working life in the insurance industry I've somehow managed to cock-up my own insurance cover when I moved house and the watch isn't covered. Such a feckwit.
So do I presume you made it to Xscape then? What's it like? I'm planning on getting over there in a few weeks myself - provided the weather's dry (can't see me getting my board in with the roof on). Shout if you fancy getting something arranged to meet up there (it would give me a chance to have a proper look at that flame-thrower of yours)

It's not too bad... first time was good, no queues even though it was quite busy. Went on New Years Day with a stinking hangover and they only had one lift open so we only got about 6 runs in an hour.
Might go down on monday morning but I'm back at work on Wednesday so next chance would be february.
If you fancy going down then let me know and I'll pop you a note when I get back.

If it makes you feel any better Andy I did a similar thing with a sea going canoe last summer, clipped it with the hatchback on the hire car, wobble, wobble...if I can just grab it in tim...sliiiiide, screeech scuff... new front edge of roof and a lovely 2 foot wide scrape right down the middle of the bonnet

I would suggest leaving board behind any way.
I've skied quite alot at the Xscape at Milton Keynes - and to tell the truth I never use my own skis when visiting (Though I do use my own boots) - as it is far simpler to use the equipment they provide and avoid the hassle of have to dry the skies out after just 1 or 2 hours skiing.
