Hi all
When driving at 45-70mph my 2002 a4 develops some annoying vibration through steering and in car throughout in general. There are 18" alloys on with new pirelli p zero nero tyres fitted recently.
I took off wheels this morning and cleaned inside of rims as there was alot of dirt and grime stuck to insides. I test drove again and same problem.
The wheels were balanced and aligned when new tyres fitted.
I am going to get them balanced again.
If this fails, should I be looking at worn shock absorbers or inner track rod ends.
I have replaced all other parts of suspension in the last few months. There is 140k on clock.

Any help or suggestions appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi
Sorry for ignorance. How do you mean 100% true?

Thanks

Not buckled or out of round.

Did it have this vibration before the new tyres were fitted???

If not there's your answer, wheel balance.

Our machine goes out of calibration from time to time, so the fitter sees 0 grams (perfectly balanced wheel) but in reality its miles out.

Hi
Wheels are not buckled or damaged in any way.
Will get wheel balance done again tomorrow and see what happens.

Thanks.

I just remember, last time you went there they messed up your tracking and put the ESP light on, perhaps a new tyre fitting emporium is required.

Hi TT
When fitting new tyres I actually did go somewhere new.

I went back this morning and got wheels balanced again. Left premises and went for test drive. Car was driving perfectly.

Then weights that were used to balance wheels started to fall off and we were back to same old story again. What the hell like.

Will be returning shortly to give someone a few home truths. The joys of motoring.

Thanks.

When you say new tyres do you mean all 4? I had 2 fronts done and it vibrated the same as yours, i swapped front to back and problem sorted!

I had 2 fronts done and were fine after wheel balance today until weights fell off.
