  • * Any chance of a Sticky? ***

Gents - I've been meaning to post this up for a while.

Quite a few owners/builders/ex owners have said next year is the year they plan on doing the Le Mans Classics. I would be happy to contact the camp site most regulars stay at and book up. I would need to know numbers though. Can anyone wishing to show an interest do so here?

Camp site details here ..... > http://www.chateau-de-chanteloup.com/

I believe the dates for the Classics are 9th - 11th July 2010 (I would be traveling down the previous Wednesday and return on the Monday)

It would be great to get a large gathering of Ultimas back at Le Mans, it has been a while since something was organised.

I'm in.

Contact the camp site in the link. They have a limited number of rooms and Gites so if you get a booking now you may be lucky.

I've always camped within the confines of the racing circuit, and always hankered after a bit more civilisation! But how far is it, and how traffic snarled is it, from this luxurious looking campsite to the track? I guess traffic isn't such an issue for the Classic which is always about30% as busy as the 24hr race. Or is the tram / courtesy bus an option here?

cheers
Roger

A bit early yet mate! But I'll give it a guess at .......

Ferry £100 - 200 (Depending on crossing) I'm planing on letting folks book their own
Camping 12 - 15 euros per night per person (guess, can't remember this years costs. Steve.D?)
General Entry ticket 50 - 60 euros
Fuel Who Knows?
Food Who Knows?
Beer Who Knows?

All I'm after at this stage is some rough numbers.

Cheers

Can't remember either. I just come away each year thinking it's a bloody good price for what you get.
That goes for the whole trip really.

My ferry crossing this year was £112 (Car, one adult).
Also I do not pay much attention to the fuel as, IIRC it is cheaper in France and the trip is only 147 miles on the French side which is less for me than a trip to Stoneliegh or FOD.

If so, We're in.

do you mean paulb and steve in the first photo?

We will be there again next year, camp site is indeed fantastic, and much better event than the standard "lemans" annual event.
